Overview

The Master of Advanced Health Practice has been developed for individuals with a background in a health science discipline including nursing and allied health professions. The course is focused on professional development for current health practitioners, giving them a broad overview of the latest developments in various fields.

The course is practical and allows students to build on their existing experience. It enables students to pursue their interests through the choice of specialisations across a range of advanced health practice areas. Alternatively, the degree can be completed as a generic course of study without a specialisation by undertaking a selection of units in accordance with the award rules. The course content, activities, flexible delivery options and assessment methods reflect the needs of busy professionals.

The degree can also be completed without a specialisation by undertaking a selection of units in accordance with the award rules.

Course requirements

  1. To be eligible for the award of Master of Advanced Health Practice with a specialisation a candidate shall successfully complete not less than twelve (12) units comprising:
    1. Units listed in Part A of the Schedule of Units attached to these Rules; and
    2. four (4) units of a specialisation listed in Part B of the Schedule of Units; and
    3. four (4) units or equivalent from Part C of the Schedule of Units.
  2. To be eligible for the award of Master of Advanced Health Practice without specialisation, a candidate shall successfully complete not less than twelve (12) units comprising:
    1. All units listed in Part A of the Schedule of Units attached to these Rules; and
    2. eight (8) units or equivalent from Part C of the Schedule of Units.
  3. To be eligible for the award of Graduate Diploma of Advanced Health Practice with a specialisation a candidate shall successfully complete not less than eight (8) units comprising:
    1. all units listed in Part A of the Schedule of Units attached to these Rules; and
    2. four (4) units of a specialisation listed in Part B of the Schedule of Units attached to these Rules.
  4. To be eligible for the award of Graduate Diploma of Advanced Health Practice without specialisation a candidate shall successfully complete not less than eight (8) units comprising:
    1. all units listed in Part A of the Schedule of Units attached to these Rules; and
    2. four (4) units or equivalent from Part C of the Schedule of Units attached to these Rules.
  5. To be eligible for the award of Graduate Certificate in Advanced Health Practice without specialisation a candidate shall successfully complete not less than four (4) units comprising:
    1. CMM03260 Graduate Studies Project I
    2. any two (2) units or equivalent from Part A and Part C of the Schedule of Unit attached to these Rules.
  6. A candidate who while enrolled for the Master of Advanced Health Practice with a specialisation has completed the requirements for the Graduate Diploma of Advanced Health Practice with that same specialisation may elect to be awarded the Graduate Diploma in that same specialisation following withdrawal from candidature for the Masters award.
  7. A candidate who while enrolled for the Master of Advanced Health Practice without specialisation has completed the requirements for the Graduate Diploma of Advanced Health Practice or Graduate Certificate in Advanced Health Practice may elect to be awarded the Graduate Diploma or Graduate Certificate following withdrawal from candidature for the Masters award.

 

Entry requirements

English language requirements apply to International applicants and other applicants whose previous study was undertaken in a language other than English. The minimum English language requirements for such applicants for entry to this course are as follows

    1. Units listed in Part A of the Schedule of Units attached to these Rules; and
    2. four (4) units of a specialisation listed in Part B of the Schedule of Units; and
    3. four (4) units or equivalent from Part C of the Schedule of Units.
  2. To be eligible for the award of Master of Advanced Health Practice without specialisation, a candidate shall successfully complete not less than twelve (12) units comprising:
    1. All units listed in Part A of the Schedule of Units attached to these Rules; and
    2. eight (8) units or equivalent from Part C of the Schedule of Units.
  3. To be eligible for the award of Graduate Diploma of Advanced Health Practice with a specialisation a candidate shall successfully complete not less than eight (8) units comprising:
    1. all units listed in Part A of the Schedule of Units attached to these Rules; and
    2. four (4) units of a specialisation listed in Part B of the Schedule of Units attached to these Rules.
  4. To be eligible for the award of Graduate Diploma of Advanced Health Practice without specialisation a candidate shall successfully complete not less than eight (8) units comprising:
    1. all units listed in Part A of the Schedule of Units attached to these Rules; and
    2. four (4) units or equivalent from Part C of the Schedule of Units attached to these Rules.
  5. To be eligible for the award of Graduate Certificate in Advanced Health Practice without specialisation a candidate shall successfully complete not less than four (4) units comprising:
    1. CMM03260 Graduate Studies Project I
    2. any two (2) units or equivalent from Part A and Part C of the Schedule of Unit attached to these Rules.
  6. A candidate who while enrolled for the Master of Advanced Health Practice with a specialisation has completed the requirements for the Graduate Diploma of Advanced Health Practice with that same specialisation may elect to be awarded the Graduate Diploma in that same specialisation following withdrawal from candidature for the Masters award.
  7. A candidate who while enrolled for the Master of Advanced Health Practice without specialisation has completed the requirements for the Graduate Diploma of Advanced Health Practice or Graduate Certificate in Advanced Health Practice may elect to be awarded the Graduate Diploma or Graduate Certificate following withdrawal from candidature for the Masters award.
