Unit description

Applies knowledge of primary health to the role of the diabetes educator, and the way the profession is advancing to enable partnerships to develop within the primary healthcare team. The focus is on diabetes education for clients that is relevant and accessible. Students identify the issues associated with chronic disease within the community, focusing on the student’s own primary discipline: that of a diabetes educator.
