Overview
The Bachelor of Business in Tourism and Hospitality Management prepares students with transferable skills for a career in a dynamic and diverse industry.
Core units comprise subjects in business operations, marketing, finance, human resources and regulation. Students may either choose from a range of industry-specific electives, or specialise with one of the following majors: event management, hospitality management or tourism management.
A compulsory internship is a key feature of this course and counts as four compulsory units of the degree. During this internship, students gather valuable industry experience, building their confidence and networks.
This course also offers an optional international exchange program for second-year students to study overseas.

A compulsory 14-week internship program, which counts as four core units of the degree, provides students with a block of practical workplace experience in a hospitality, event or tourism organisation in Australia or overseas.
Students are responsible for securing their internship placement and are given extensive assistance in interview and application procedures, access to an extensive database of potential employers and roles and ongoing support from the dedicated Work Integrated Learning team.

Course requirements
To be awarded the Bachelor of Business in Tourism and Hospitality Management, students must successfully complete the equivalent of 24 units (288 credit points) comprising:
- All core units; and
- one (1) major; or
- eight (8) elective units
Exit Award
Students can exit with the Associate Degree of Business in Tourism and Hospitality Management if 16 units (192 credit points) have been completed.
