Overview

Innovation, entrepreneurship, digital communication, and human values are key qualities required by the responsible leaders of tomorrow. These qualities are valued by businesses that not only aim for growth and financial success, but also endeavour to make positive societal impact and lead with purpose.

The Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of Arts develops these qualities, combining business skills with a focus on human cultures, creative and critical thinking, and communication.

You will choose an Arts major in Humanities, Creative Writing or Social Sciences, backed by either core Business units covering foundational knowledge such as business law, economics and marketing or you may elect to specialise in Accounting.

This double degree is a pathway to multiple career options, from journalism to policy development, product management to design, public relations to accounting and finance and beyond.

Course Learning Outcome

GA1: Intellectual rigour

Apply critical analysis, reasoning and reflexivity to social and cultural situations and problems.

Construct persuasive independent arguments incorporating a range of perspectives and evidence.

GA4: Knowledge of a discipline

Demonstrate a depth and breadth of knowledge and understanding of society and culture in chosen disciplines of study.

Course requirements

To be eligible to receive the Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of Arts, students must complete the equivalent of 32 units (384 credit points) comprising:

  • 22 Core Business units or Accounting Specialisation (264 credit points), AND
  • 1 Arts major (96 credit points) and
  • 2 Arts Option units (24 credit points).

Exit Awards

Students may be eligible to exit with a Bachelor of Business after completing the equivalent of 24 units (288 credit points), as per the Bachelor of Business Schedule of Units.

Enrolment information This is a double-weighted, Work Integrated Learning (WIL) unit, requiring a minimum of 200 hours plus associated study. Enrolment information This is a double-weighted, Work Integrated Learning (WIL) unit, requiring a minimum of 200 hours plus associated study. Depending on enrolment location, the following options may be available: Internship Option: Placement must align with your degree/specialisation and be approved by the Unit Assessor, and an Internship Placement Form must be submitted and approved PRIOR to commencing the placement.
