Unit aim

Part 1 of 2 units comprising the second social work field placement. Engages students in 600 hours (across WEL92005 and WEL92006) of supervised social work practice, in a different human service organisation to which they completed the first social work field placement (WEL91006-7). Develops professional skills, knowledge and values in line with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) practice standards for social work. Transfers learning gained from other units in the course to practice in a real organisation. Emphasis is placed on the use of research to inform social work practice and policy change.
