Unit aim
Engages students in 450 hours of supervised social work practice, in a different human service organisation to which they completed WEL91006-7, developing professional skills, knowledge and values in line with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) practice standards for social work. Students transfer learning gained from other units in their course to practice in a real organisation. An emphasis is placed on the use of research to inform social work practice and policy change.

- Understanding the role of social workers within the organisation
- Understanding the range of social work practice within this setting
- Making effective use of professional supervision

Learning outcomes
