Unit aim
Students spend 150 hours engaging in supervised Social Work practice, in the same human service organisation in which they completed WEL91006, developing professional skills, knowledge and values in line with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) practice standards for social work. Students transfer learning gained from other units in their course to practice in a real organisation.

- Forming, maintaining and ending professional relationships with clients, colleagues and others
- Communicating effectively with a range of stakeholders
- Analysing team work and other group dynamics within the workplace
- Engaging in critical self reflection
- Critically reflecting on development of own communication skills
- Making effective use of professional supervision
- Identifying gaps in learning and ongoing learning needs
Learning outcomes
