Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

1 form professional and ethical social work relationships with clients and colleagues in a human service organisation
2 demonstrate effective communication with clients, colleagues and other key stakeholders
3 analyse the organisation, its location within wider social systems and its relationship with other organisations, such as auspicing bodies and funding agencies
4 analyse the ways in which a social work service is provided within the organisation
5 make use of professional supervision to increase their learning about social work practice.
