Unit aim

Examines the social construction of disability and theories of disablement. Introduces students to lived experiences of disability and the material, cultural and socio-political consequences of ableism and intersectionality. Critically analyses legislation, policy and practice in this field and promotes practices that  enable social justice and social inclusion..
