Learning outcomes and graduate attributes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

1 Demonstrate the requisite knowledge, skills, values and attitudes to plan for and manage successful learning as measured against the AITSL standards.
2 Describe the role and value of educational program evaluation in secondary educational settings and select appropriate evaluation methods to suit different purposes.
3 Design and implement an evaluation relevant to a specific program /unit of work in a secondary school.
4 Analyse and evaluate the range of contexts for teaching, the need for innovative teaching practices, the need to respond to the diverse needs of students and the importance of working within a wider community, including parents and carers.
5 Reflect critically and creatively on teaching practices, drawing on classroom experiences of student learning.
6 Confidently approach the interview process for future employment.
7 Identify professional development needs and goals and seek advice and support from colleagues.
