Unit aim
Draws together the scholarly activity of three pre-requisite units in order to advance a scholarship of academic practice. Participants identify emerging issues and priorities for their own professional practice and to pursue a focus of enquiry as relevant to their professional context. Professional enquiry is transformed into a scholarly work for wider dissemination.
Unit content
Prior completion of a research project
It is assumed that during at least one of the prerequisite units of present postgraduate study, participants will have undertaken a scholarly project and/or data collection of some kind.

Topic 2 – The framework of Boyer’s four scholarships and its relevance to professional inquiry
Topic 3 – Challenges and opportunities in the current context of academic practice in higher education
Topic 4 – The processes and practices of professional scholarly inquiry
Learning outcomes
