Unit aim
Prepares students for speech pathology practice in working with adult and paediatric clients with acquired and developmental speech disorders associated with motor/sensory neurological impairment. Students will demonstrate clinical reasoning within decision-making by applying knowledge and skills in the context of frameworks such as the International Classification of Functioning, Disability & Health and Evidence-based practice (EBP).
Unit content
The unit will be divided into two core modules:
- Assessment and intervention for adults with motor/sensory speech disorders
- Assessment and intervention for children with motor/sensory speech disorders
