Unit aim

Enables application of critical and creative reasoning applicable to assessment and treatment services across various Range of Practice Areas relevant to contemporary Speech Pathology practice. Students will strengthen abilities in application, analysis, evaluation and synthesis.

Unit content

This capstone unit covers:

  • Critical and creative thinking and reasoning applied to: Speech Pathology Range of Practice Principles, the Professional Framework, Ethics, all Range of Practice Areas [ROPAs], and Competency Based Occupational Standards for entry level contemporary practice
  • Broadening Scope of Practice for Speech Pathologists
  • Meta-awareness.

5 design and demonstrate holistic and innovative intervention plans and strategies in situations of co-occurring deficits
