Unit Summary
Unit aim
Prepares students for speech pathology practice when working with adults with acquired disorders of language and cognitive-communication. The unit will promote holistic, ethical, and inter-professional management of clients by applying principles of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health.
Unit content
The unit will be broadly divided into two modules:
- Language and aphasia
- Cognition and cognitive-communication disorders
Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
