Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

1 describe what 'science' is, including the various approaches that have been used in the development of science to advance knowledge
2 discuss the values and limitations of the scientific process in contributing to knowledge

4 demonstrate an ability to critique and produce science-based communications.
