Unit aim
An introduction to the history, approaches, and roles in an Agile project management environment. This unit will also provide students with an understanding of the most appropriate situations in which to employ Agile practices, the benefits and challenges of Agile, and the growing use of hybrid forms of project management.
Unit content
- The history of the development of Agile, including the Agile Manifesto and primary principles and values of Agile.
- The key differences and similarities between traditional project management approaches and Agile, and the role of complication and complexity.
- Frameworks that fall under the Agile banner.
- Implementing and managing Agile projects, and interacting with the PMO and organisational governance.
- Resourcing and measuring Agile.
- Using Agile in hybridised project management situations.
Learning outcomes
