Unit aim
Explores natural resource management and rural and regional planning issues within both statutory and strategic planning contexts. Key environmental, social and economic issues for rural and regional planners are examined in depth along with the associated planning policy context. In particular, the unit examines the balancing of issues as a fundamental skill in making planning decisions. The unit also involves critical thinking about the formulation and application of regional planning policy with respect to both the planning profession and the community.
