UG Coursework Unit
Level of learning
Introduces students to the basic principles and concepts of physics and mathematics. Students will gain analytic and problem solving skills by applying physics and mathematical concepts to biomedical and health contexts.
Topic 1: Measurement and algebra
Topic 2: Work and Energy
Topic 3: Laws of Motion
Topic 4: Linear and Nonlinear Functions and Graphs
Topic 5: Gases and Thermochemistry
Topic 6: Waves, Light and Sound
Topic 7: Electricity and Magnetism
Topic 8: Nuclear Radiation
Topic 9: Dosimetry measurements
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
|On completion of this unit, students should be able to:||GA1||GA2||GA3||GA4||GA5||GA6||GA7|
|1||describe and explain physics concepts as they relate to biomedical science and human health|
|2||apply analytic and problem solving skills to evaluate physics and mathematical problems|
|3||effectively communicate knowledge of physics and mathematics in written form|
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
describe and explain physics concepts as they relate to biomedical science and human health
apply analytic and problem solving skills to evaluate physics and mathematical problems
