Unit aim

Introduces students to the use and interpretation of diagnostic imaging and laboratory modalities in the assessment of clients. Students will learn through case based studies.

  • Scientific principles and safety of diagnostic imaging modalities
    • Plain film radiography
    • Computed Tomography
    • Magnetic resonance imaging
    • Diagnostic Ultrasound
    • Scintigraphy
    • Other techniques
  • Radiographic views and Anatomy
  • Systematic interpretation of diagnostic imaging for lower limb conditions
  • Referral for diagnostic imaging
  • Laboratory and hospital investigations
  • Integration of diagnostic imaging and laboratory investigations in the assessment of a patient
