Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

1 explain the scientific principles of diagnostic imaging techniques and laboratory investigations
2 interpret laboratory investigations, diagnostic imaging and reports in the assessment of lower limb conditions
3 demonstrate use of diagnostic ultrasound in the assessment of lower limb conditions
4 demonstrate appropriate referral for diagnostic imaging in the assessment of lower limb conditions
5 formulate conclusions regarding a patient’s health through integration of patient history, physical examination, and findings of diagnostic imaging and other assessments
