Unit description

This unit advances the student osteopathic clinician experience of case history taking, differential diagnosis, clinical reasoning, patient management plans and treatment strategies informed by the best available evidence in a supervised clinical practice setting.

Unit content

Students undertake learning experiences to further develop professional behaviours and competencies, and integrate and apply theory and skills learned in previous units. Reflective practice and the development of clinical reasoning are key components of this unit

Learning outcomes

perform a full patient physical examination in context at a proficient level

practice advanced clinical reasoning skills with direction to formulate and explain a management plan and commence a safe, rational and effective series of osteopathic treatments

exemplify high standards of professional behaviour and attitudes, reflective practice and inter and intra-professional communication
