Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
1 analyse critical questions about the evidence basis of osteopathic health care
2 demonstrate and reflect upon an advanced level of contextually relevant patient handling and interactive skills
3 demonstrate and explain advanced osteopathic diagnosis including holistic/global dysfunction and the biopsychosocial model of healthcare
4 provide the reasoning underpinning the high velocity manipulative techniques in the thoracic and cervical spine and upper limb
5 demonstrate the safe and effective use of high velocity manipulative techniques in the thoracic and cervical spine and upper limb
