Unit aim
Develops the skills of the beginning osteopathic clinician in supervised clinical practice including case history taking, differential diagnosis, clinical reasoning, patient management plans and treatment strategies. Also develops teamwork skills working in a team-based research project.
Unit content
- Provides 102 hours of clinical practice under the supervision of one or more osteopathic clinical educators and 24 hours of grand rounds
- Professional behaviours in osteopathic student clinic
- Integrating theory and practice skills as a beginning student osteopathic clinician
- Reflective practice: reflecting on self
- Clinical reasoning in osteopathic clinic
- Research project: retrieving and critically appraising literature, writing a literature review.
