Unit aim
Provides students with a deepening understanding of the diagnostic theory and methods in primary care medicine, with particular concentration on the modules of immunology, cardiology, respiratory and paediatrics. This unit also aims to integrate the osteopathic principles and practices into knowledge of public health and patient problems in these systems.

Topic 4: Principles of pulmonary medicine Review of pathology Advanced diagnostic skills

Topic 6: Case study development, including:
- Case history interview Integration of basic and clinical sciences
- Nutritional and lifestyle considerations
- Diagnostic work up
- Development of a rational management plan
