Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

demonstrate a professional and ethical approach to practice.

demonstrate an emerging level of competence and performance in identified core areas of Occupational Therapy practice as specified in the Australian Occupational Therapy Competency Standards (2018)

demonstrate the development of professional problem solving and clinical reasoning skills relevant to occupational therapy service delivery

create and maintain appropriate client records, reports and other required documentation.

demonstrate a high level of verbal communication skills with clients, families, staff and relevant others with increasing levels of independence.

demonstrate and practice a high level of initiative and self-direction

reflect on practice education experiences demonstrating a deep level of understanding
