Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
reflect on the principles of academic integrity and academic writing, including knowledge of the SCU policy on academic integrity and academic misconduct
compare and contrast the health of Australians, including the Indigenous population groups, with the major elements of the health care system
appraise the various factors which influence the functions of the Australian health care system and the health of Australians, including priority population groups
debate the impact of health care policy, funding and governance on the Australian health care system
critically evaluate the role information technology plays in the Australian health care system
interpret the impact of current trends in the health care system on the health care workforce
examine the influence of history and culture on the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders
