Integrates, applies, consolidates and extends knowledge, skills and behaviours developed throughout the course in a 170-hour professional experience placement undertaken in a real-life primary care setting, as well as a specialised healthcare setting.

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

adapt attitude, behaviour, consultation, dialogue and environmental elements of the rapport process to primary and specialised healthcare settings

use appropriate assessment techniques and diagnostic reasoning pertinent to primary and specialised healthcare settings

plan and deliver safe and evidence-based naturopathic medicine therapeutics as applicable to primary and specialised healthcare settings

apply the review process by reassessing patient progress, reflecting on one's practice and referring the patient where appropriate within primary and specialised healthcare settings
