Unit aim

Building on skills and knowledge developed in Music Craft VIII, this unit develops advanced level technical and analytical skills in a specific studio practice area (instrumental/vocal performance, songwriting or production). Students participate in practical and lab sessions and participate in one to one and small group tuition in their chosen studio practice area.

Unit content

  • Advanced level concepts and techniques related to a specific studio practice area (performance, songwriting or production)
     
  • Analysis and critique of repertoire, performance and recordings.

Learning outcomes

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
1 apply advanced level concepts and techniques relevant to a specific studio practice area
2 evaluate and reflect on advanced level music practice and design strategies to improve targeted areas
3 critically apply advanced level concepts and techniques to the performance /presentation of selected repertoire/examples in a specific studio practice area.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
