Unit aim
Introduces participants to research related to real world engineering, infrastructure, or asset management issues and opportunities in industry. Participants will learn about the research process, identify a suitable issue for research, and identify suitable research tools to address the issue.

Developing an understanding of what is research
Identifying appropriate research problems and opportunities
Reviewing previous research literature
Designing a research project
Understanding data analysis
Developing qualitative research tools
Developing quantitative research tools
Developing mixed methods research tools
Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit.
