Unit aim
This unit develops an understanding of factors affecting labour supply and demand in a local and global context. More specifically, the factors affecting the current labour markets conditions such as globalisation, an aging population, skill shortages and the changing nature of work are discussed.

Topic 3: An overview of human resource management (HRM): attracting, developing and maintaining a quality workforce
Topic 4: International dimensions of management and the effect of globalisation on labour and capital
Topic 5: Motivation and rewards theories, job satisfaction and performance
Topic 6: Ethics, social responsibility and sustainability
Topic 7: Communication, conflict and negotiation
Topic 8: Managing organisational change
Topic 9: Leading and the nature of leadership
Topic 10: Sustainable operations, managing the value chain, IT and e-business
