Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

safely calculate and administer adult and neonate medication and IV fluids

apply knowledge and skills to provide care for women and/or baby who requires complex assessments and/or interventions in pregnancy, labour or postpartum; including caesarean birth and maternity emergencies

demonstrate evidence of achieving midwifery competency based upon the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia [NMBA] Standards for Practice and Codes includes progress towards the practice requirements of the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council [ANMAC]
