Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

1 demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of the concepts of probability, statistical inference, and regression and correlation
2 make appropriate decisions based on the task requirements, by selecting and applying appropriate statistical procedures and interpreting the results obtained
3 communicate statistical ideas, processes and results effectively at different levels of formality
4 use an appropriate spreadsheet or statistical software in statistical analysis
5 interpret statistical output.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
