Unit Summary
Pre-requisites
be admitted to the Master of Law (Business), Master of Business Law OR the Graduate Certificate in Business Law.
Unit aim
Examines the legal and equitable principles and statutory framework underpinning contract law in Australia with emphasis on practical and commercial applications of the relevant principles. Critical theoretical perspectives will be analysed against a backdrop of current national and international trends relevant to understanding contracts in everyday practice.

Topic 1: What is an enforceable contract?
Topic 2: Fairness in contract formation
Topic 3: Content, interpretation and operation of the contract
Topic 4: Termination and breach
Topic 5: Remedies for breach
Topic 6: Illegality and unenforceable contracts
