Unit Summary
Unit aim
Examines climate change, one of the most pressing environmental issues of our time impacting legislation, economics, politics, corporate and public behaviour. Particular attention is paid to the important role of international law and policy, as well as national regulations of various countries in the fight against climate change. Discussions focus on existing and emerging regulations and frameworks in Australia and internationally, and their impact on the business and public sectors, and on incentives for businesses to reduce emissions, comply with environmental laws, and participate in voluntary programs. Deforestation, and forest protection through international and national programs and regulations, are also discussed.
