Unit aim

Provides students with the knowledge and skills to utilize contemporary data analytics tools. Students are introduced to big data technologies and learn to build data analytics solutions using data analytics tools and technologies to solve real-world problems and aid decision-making.

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
1 demonstrate knowledge and practical skills of methods, components, processes and architectures of Business Intelligence environment and incorporate it with marketing strategies
2 understand the scope, power and limitations of the methods and tools of BI and adapt appropriate BI solutions to facilitate the decision-making processes
3 apply systematic and analytical thinking on planning business intelligence roadmaps to derive insights and generate value within a variety of business contexts
4 enhance interpersonal and communication skills with analytical thinking and data visualisation techniques.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
