Unit aim

Requires students to undertake planning and control for software projects and perform software analysis and design for clients. Students will have opportunities to demonstrate and apply their skills of project management, software analysis and design, documentation, communication and maintenance of relationship with other stakeholders. Students are also expected to organise meetings, keep records of their activities and review their project.

Unit content

This is a capstone unit, where students are expected to demonstrate the skills to undertake the activities to plan, monitor, control and review project, and complete system analysis and design. The topics of most relevance to achieving the goals of this unit are as follows:

  1. Project management
  2. Feasibility analysis
  3. Systems analysis
  4. Systems design
  5. Presentation of system specifications
  6. Report writing
  7. Client/user liaison
