Unit aim

Examines the different contexts for working respectfully and ethically with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Establishes a collaborative framework for an experiential internship within a community context. Presents a co-design model for community based assessment of engagement practice in an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community context.

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
1 analyse and apply the principles and protocols for working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and community organisations
2 evaluate the critical and ethical self and community assessment of values and positioning skills applied in engagement
3 apply the models for ensuring respect, ethical sharing and care in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community relations.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
