Unit content

This unit contains six topics:

  1. Hotel revenue management essentials
  2. Pricing strategy and the expanding role of revenue management
  3. Predictive analytics and price optimisation
  4. Overbooking practices in revenue management
  5. Revenue management systems and big data in hotels
  6. Future of revenue management

Learning outcomes

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

3 Identify and interpret principles of customer/segment profit contribution
4 Evaluate and propose appropriate revenue management practices for driving profitability in hotel industry contexts
