Level of learning
Educates future sport scientists about the skills and competencies required to successfully design sport specific training programmes for athletes competing at a variety of levels. The unit integrates the basic principles of exercise physiology and training methodology to develop a sound understanding of the complexities of designing year-round training programmes in any sporting activity. As a result, this unit will provide students with the necessary knowledge to develop training programmes designed to improve the general physiological capabilities of the athlete.
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
