Strengthens students' knowledge of accountability issues for health professional practice and expands discipline-specific and inter-professional clinical reasoning. The unit addresses issues such as ethics and law in health practice and business, advocacy, human rights and health, capacity building, ethical reasoning and research ethics. Advanced clinical reasoning for various client profiles and contexts are also explored.

• Role and requirements of an expert witness and implications for health professionals
• Health professionals influencing policy development.
• Ethics and law in health practice and business.
• Accountability in service delivery settings and accountability systems external to the profession.
• Capacity building initiatives and globalisation
• Ethical reasoning and research ethics.
• Clinical decision making around selection of intervention targets. 
• Meta-awareness skills in relation to clinical reasoning in novel and complex situations.
• Advanced clinical reasoning for different client profiles.
• Inter-professional issues with respect to various scenarios.

Learning outcomes
