Unit aim
Provides students with the experience of working with a mixed caseload, and with clients exhibiting profiles, not previously encountered. Students apply clinical reasoning, profession specific and inter-professional skills to clients with a range of disorders.
Unit content
Theory and preclinical information on:
- Clinical reasoning and treatment planning for clients with a range of disorders
- Evidence-based practice using the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health Framework (ICF) (WHO, 2001)
- Creating a Clinical Pattern
- Using technology to access resources for best practice
Simulated and actual clinic experience (under supervision) in:
- Assessing and interpreting clinical data
- Writing reports of finding; providing recommendations regarding intervention and planning for intervention
- Presentation and discussion of client details to audiences as appropriate
- Selecting outcome measurements to track progress of clients
- Applying profession specific and inter-professional assessment and intervention skills
