Explores issues of leadership, management and professional development to facilitate the transition from student to competent beginning practitioner.
Unit content
Topic 1: Awareness of relevant professional bodies (such as OT AUSTRALIA, Australasian Podiatry Council, Speech Pathology Australia, SARRAH (Services for Australian Rural & Remote Allied Health))
Topic 2: National Registration or relevant professional body regulations and requirements
Topic 3: Ongoing CPD requirements following graduation
Topic 4: Mentoring and other supports
Topic 5: Working as a sole therapist/clinician
Topic 6: Writing a curriculum vitae and/or resume, interviewing skills and addressing selection criteria
Topic 7: Post-graduate education opportunities
Topic 8: Presentations from potential employers/recruiters, regulators and/or employment support services
Topic 9: Other professional relevant topics identified by students
Topic 10: Construction of a professional portfolio (as required or recommended by professional bodies and/or registration bodies)
