Unit aim

Advances the pre-clinical skills of integrative osteopathic diagnosis and treatment, consolidates the personal and professional application of health principles, develops skills for working collaboratively and further develops and applies critical appraisal skills to osteopathic health practice.

Unit content

Topic 1: Practitioner development - problem solving with ethical principles, collaborative presentation
Topic 2: Osteopathic diagnosis - spinal biomechanical findings - integration of all physical and holistic findings
Topic 3: Osteopathic diagnosis - neuromusculoskeletal model
Topic 4: Osteopathic technique - high velocity technique - introduction to spine/upper limb/shoulder - integrated direct and indirect approach
Topic 5: Introduction to public and social health
Topic 6: Introduction to therapeutic exercise
Topic 7: Clinical practicum - observation in osteopathic clinics
