Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

1 identify and analyse major social and cultural developments in Australia from the end of World War I to the present time
2 apply that knowledge to their own experience of Australian culture
3 consider and analyse different constructions and interpretations of those developments
4 interrogate the ways in which race, class, gender and ethnicity and changes in broader society have altered the ways historians this century now think and write histories
5 critically analyse primary sources for the purposes of interpreting the past.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

  1. identify and analyse major social and cultural developments in Australia from the end of World War I to the present time
