Unit aim
Increases students' knowledge of research paradigms, designs and methodologies relevant to health and human science. Students identify a research question and consider application of investigation strategy and ethical issues for an honours research project. Skill is acquired in exploring and evaluating the literature and in designing and presenting a research proposal.
Unit content
- Knowledge of quantitative or qualitative approach required for project
- Preparation of a research question that will be explored in project
- Scholarly discussion of colleagues' research questions
- Ethical issues and cultural awareness related to the research proposal
- Critical review of the pertinent literature related to the research topic and methodology
