Unit aim

Introduces students to geographic information systems (GIS) and how GIS can be used to solve a simple spatial problem in environmental science. Students will use location data from a global positioning system (GPS) and other field data. They will integrate these data into a geodatabase via Excel. They will gather relevant existing spatial data and create a Story Map and Infographic that conveys a clear message to the general public.

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
