Unit aim

Specifically focuses on chemical and engineering solutions for dealing with waste now and in the future. Students will develop an understanding of the existing, new and emerging technologies available for resource recovery.  From this understanding they will be challenged to develop innovative thinking to solve waste problems.

Unit content

Resource recovery

Solubility control of precipitates

Catalysis reactions

Nutrient recovery

Oil recovery

Waste encapsulation

Closing waste loops

Innovative use of systems and processes

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
