Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

1 explain at broad and detailed level, the processes and philosophy of engineering design
2 use both written, drawn and oral formats to explain ideas, concepts and processes to targeted audiences
3 use reflective practice to demonstrate the development of engineering competency
4 explain the principles of ethics and managing risk in professional engineering
5 effectively operate as a member of an engineering team
6 develop, explain and use a basic understanding of robotics, computer programming and logic control systems to solve a significant issue in society.
