Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

1 define a major self-directed writing project and plan the research necessary to complete it
2 demonstrate a capacity to provide and respond to critical feedback
3 contextualise their own writing practice in terms of other contemporary writing and relevant critical/theoretical frameworks
4 produce a substantial piece of writing in a form consistent with publishing standards/professional writing practice
5 demonstrate a level of writing skill appropriate to a major writing project.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
