PG Coursework Unit
Supports the identification and exploratory application of an appropriate methodology for a specific research problem in education. Students learn research skills through the selection of a research paradigm, theoretical approach, methodology and research design for this problem. They explore different ways of conceptualising data to develop and/or apply ethical methods for collecting and analysing data and presenting and discussing research findings. Quantitative, Qualitative, Mixed Methods, Arts-based and Post-qualitative approaches to inquiry will be explored.
Module 1: Exploring questions, aims & objectives
Module 2: Exploring paradigms, approaches and ethical designs
Module 3: Ways of conceptualising and collecting data
Module 4: Ways of exploring and analysing data
Module 5: Ways of presenting findings
Module 6: Ways of discussing data and making meaning
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
